Caring Connections - Steps for Hosting a Party

  1. If you are considering a party but need more information to decide, call the Foundation at (952) 428-2070 to discuss Caring Connections or to request a Hostess Tool Kit. The Tool Kit includes:

  1. Identify several prospective party dates that will work for you. Note that the most common times though are Tuesday / Thursday evenings or Monday through Saturday mornings and early afternoons.
  2. Contact Foundation staff member, Yvonne Anderson, ideally 4-8 weeks in advance of your party dates (Yvonne.Anderson@bhshealth.org or (952) 233-4488 in order to:
  • Set party date.
  • Determine the prospective number of guests. Note, the ideal party size is 10 to 50 to maximize our health expert’s time and fundraising impact for the cause.
  • Discuss and select one of our educational topics for your party.
  • Discuss the Caring Connections benefit, establish fundraising goals and obtain needed support.
  1. Refine the invitation template and mail to your prospective guests.
  2. Contact Yvonne Anderson again 3 to 5 days before your party date to confirm attendance.
  3. Provide extra Honoring Health—Circle of Saints Giving Brochures to friends and family who cannot attend, but share your commitment to the cause.
  4. Plan and prepare food and beverage for your participants. Note that some educational topics have healthy recipes samples you could prepare that would enhance the educational dialogue with participants.
  5. Introduce the Clinician Educator and guests. The Educator will bring needed learning and giving materials.
  6. Provide 20 minutes for the educational presentation and approximately 10 to 15 minutes for follow-up dialogue.
  7. Use the Tips for Asking Your Guests for Gift—Circle of Saints Appeal to help generate support for the cause.
  8. Share why you are hosing a party and ask your guests to consider hosting a Caring Connections party at their home.
  9. Collect participant evaluation forms and giving envelopes, as well as your own, in the large envelope provided.
  10. A week after your party, contact Yvonne Anderson to turn in your event envelope.
